I had the opportunity to speak at this mornings meeting, of the Trinity Chapter, of Keep it Local, a very dynamic, seat specific referral and networking group, to which I belong.
It seems that so often people are sold a policy but don’t really understand what that policy exactly covers. Most policy packets are very lengthy. A Citizens Property Insurance packet for example, has Thirty Three pages, most of which talk about what is covered and what is not covered.
As important as it is for an insurance company to understand the risk they are covering. It is just as important for the consumer to know what coverage is actually being provided.
It is your agents responsibility to identify your needs and recommend coverage based on your financial exposure, your comfort level in taking risks, the type of risk you are insuring and probably least of which, the amount of insurance you can afford.
Life events such as:
Inheritance or other financial windfall
Increase in business exposure
Partnership in business
Purchase of vehicle or home
Child beginning to drive
as well as many other life events, may modify your insurance needs and should be discussed with your insurance agent as soon as they occur.
My staff and I, not only evaluate and identify our clients needs and educate them on the coverage being recommended, but we also advise them on options to lower their insurance premiums.
We would be happy to give you a complimentary review of your policy and answer any questions you may have!
